Qualitative Adjectives are use to describe nouns, they give more details or information about them.
Mike´s face is square and Edward´s is oval, while Jonh´s face is round.
(a cara de Mike es cuadrada y la de Edward es ovalada, mientras que la de John es redonda).
My son is really young, he is 11 years old, I´m middle age, I´m in my early forties, but my son´s dad is old, he is 60 years old. (My hijo es realmente joven, tiene 11años, yo estoy en median edad, estoy a principios de mis 40, pero el papá de mi hijo es viejo, el tiene 60 años de edad)
Adjectives comes before the nouns they modify.
I saw my friends in Nat´s birthday and I saw they have beautiful hair, Denisse has short hair, Lizbeth has wavy hair, Gabi has straight hair, Laura has long and blond hair, and Nat has medium lenght hair. (Ví a mis amigas en el cuumpleaños de Nat y noté que tienen cabello hermoso, Denisse tiene cabello corto, Lizbeth tiene pelo ondulado, Gabi tiene cabello lacio, Laura tiene cabello largo y rubio, y Nat tiene cabello con un largo medio).
Adjectives can also be used with linking verbs to describe the subject of a sentence. When used in this manner, the adjective(s) come after the linking verb.

Ale is tall and slim and Liz is short and a little chubby. They both have medium lenght wavy hair. (Ale is alta y delgada y Liz es chaparra y un poco llenita. Ambas tienen cabello ondulado y un largo medio).
They feel happy because it is Ale´s birthday and the party seems wonderful. (Ellas se sienten felices porque es cumpleaños de Ale y la fiesta parece encantadora).
They have become great friends and now they share important secrets. (Ellas se han convertido en grandes amigas y ahora comparten secretos importantes).
THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT IN ENGLISH THE FORM OF AN ADJECTIVE DOES NOT CHANGE. IT MEANS THEY ARE FEMALE OR MALE, PLURAL OR SINGULAR.
Classification: Order of the adjectives of quality:
- general description: good, pretty, right, wrong, funny, light, happy, sad... e.g. He was a silly boy. (El fue un chico tonto)
- size: tall, short, big, small, little, long, same, as,... The tall man. (El hombre alto)
- age young, old, modern, middle age, ancient, ... e.g. The young woman was sitting. (La mujer joven estaba sentada)
- shape: round, triangular, rectangular, square, oval, ..e.g. They were square boxes. (Esas eran cajas cuadradas)
- colour: blue, red, green, brown, yellow, black, white, .. e. g. My blue bag. (Mi bolsa azul)
- material: glass, metal, wood, cotton, gold, silk, silver, wax, denim, ..e.g. The wooden cupboards. (Las alacenas de madera)
- origin Germany, French, Mexican, American, Chinese, ...e.g. This is the German flag. (Esta es la bandera alemana)
- purpose: e.g. my favorite belonging is an oln, brown tennis raquet. e.g (mi pertenencia favorita es una vieja raqueta de tenis café)
Adjectives of personality/emotion come after of physical description, for example:
- a small suspicious official,
- a pale anxious girl.
